John James has said DeVos – who’s cutting funding from rural Michiganders – is doing “very, very good”
A new report has revealed that Betsy DeVos – who failed Senate candidate John James says is doing “very, very good” – is cruelly cutting funding for “some of the most geographically isolated and cash-strapped” school districts in the country – including districts in Michigan.
As John James remains silent on Betsy DeVos’ latest assault on families in rural Michigan, he has benefited from nearly a million dollars in funding from the DeVos family. James has also previously praised DeVos and her failed policies – including repeatedly weakening rules to protect students who were swindled by for-profit colleges, siding with private schools and academies, and rolling back campus sexual assault guidelines that require colleges to hold perpetrators accountable.
“As John James continues his 270-day streak of hiding from Michigan press and voters in favor of courting ultra-wealthy GOP donors, he must answer for DeVos’ latest attack on rural families in our state,“ said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Michiganders deserve to know whether James stands with the DeVos family, who is bankrolling his campaign, or the working families in our state who will be hurt by these education funding cuts.”
The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. Since announcing he’d run again, just over six months after his last failed bid, James has been hiding from Michigan voters and refusing to answer questions from Michigan media.
