John James Revealed: James Praises Trump’s Response to Coronavirus As He Promises to “Terminate Health Care” Amid Pandemic and Record Unemployment

James has refused to answer questions on his health care record; hasn’t spoken to MI print media in 230 days

Unemployment in Michigan has now surpassed 1.3 million, with 68,952 new claims for the week. But as Michiganders lose their jobs and health care, John James still won’t break with Trump to call out the administration’s move to block a special enrollment period, making it harder for families to get quality, affordable coverage.

James has praised Trump’s coronavirus response which has led to record unemployment – even as the President doubles down on wanting “to terminate health care under Obamacare” during the pandemic. James has said he stands with Trump ‘2,000%’ on health care and will “work [his] tail off” to help him repeal health care and eliminate coverage for 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions

“Trump and Republicans are promising to take away Michiganders’ health care right when they need it most. But as usual, James has opted to quietly fall in line and follow party leaders over doing what’s right for Michiganders who are desperately seeking care,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn

The Michigan Democratic Party launched to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. Since announcing he’d run again, just over six months after his last failed bid, James has been hiding from Michigan voters and refusing to answer questions from Michigan media.
