John James Revealed: John James Fails to Put Michigan First, Hiding As Washington Republican Allies Let Unemployment Relief Run Out

After months of refusing to act, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have failed Michigan by letting emergency unemployment run out – in a move which “could rattle the entire economy.”

But failed politician John James has silently stood in lock step with his Washington allies as they “favored a pause” in additional aid and refused to act swiftly to ensure workers who are facing a public health and economic crisis have the relief they need.

“John James says he’ll put Michigan first, but his silence as Republicans let economic relief for Michigan run dry is proof that his claims are nothing more than empty promises,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn.

The Michigan Democratic Party launched to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
