A new report reveals that the Trump administration is stalling on sending critical funding for hospital relief for Michigan. But failed politician John James is silently standing behind the President “2000%” as he neglects to send enough aid to the Great Lakes state.
The report, which was led by U.S. Senator Gary Peters, the Ranking Member on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has exposed that 41% of hospital funds appropriated through the CARES Act and relief legislation enacted in April have not been sent – and despite being a hotspot for the pandemic, Michigan has been disproportionately underserved in federal aid.
Instead of joining Peters in calling for the President to rapidly provide necessary relief to Michigan’s hardest hit communities and prepare for a second wave, John James is “all for” Trump’s agenda and has praised his coronavirus response.
“John James’ silence as Trump stalls desperately needed aid for Michigan hospitals confirms that he’s not willing to break with the Washington Republicans and be an independent voice for Michigan,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Once again James has proven he’d rather side with Trump than Michigan.”
The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. Since announcing he’d run again, just over six months after his last failed bid, James has been hiding from Michigan voters and refusing to answer questions from Michigan media.
