According to new reports, Michigan’s June unemployment rate was “on par with what it was during the worst part of the 2009 recession” and Michiganders continue to struggle as 24,897 workers have filed for unemployment in the past week.
But failed politician John James is still “2000%” with Trump as he blocks a special Affordable Care Act open enrollment period making it harder to get health care – even as 222,000 Michiganders are newly uninsured after losing their coverage as a result of losing their job.
James’ opposition to the health care law which protects 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions is clear. He’s promised to repeal the ACA if elected, stands with Trump as he supports the GOP-led lawsuit to overturn it in the courts, and has no plan to protect Michiganders with pre-existing conditions.
“Michiganders are facing incredibly challenging times, yet John James is still showing he cares more about aligning himself with Trump than the hundreds of thousands of workers who’ve lost their health care since the spread of pandemic.” said Michigan Democratic spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “James should explain to Michiganders why he believes in making it harder to get quality affordable health care at a time when our families need it most.”
The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
