Last week 21,836 Michiganders filed for unemployment as the “state’s economic recovery continues to struggle” amid the pandemic. But failed politician John James is still “2,000%” with Trump as he blocks a special open enrollment period, making it harder for Michiganders to get health care.
James is still siding with Trump and not Michigan workers, even as a new report shows at least 222,000 Michiganders have lost their health care after losing their job since the spread of the pandemic. And James has proven he’s hellbent on his vow to repeal the ACA, refusing to oppose the Trump-GOP led lawsuit to dismantle the health care law which protects 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions.
“John James’ empty promises are on full display as he fails to break with Trump, even as the President makes it harder for Michiganders to get health care amid a pandemic and recession,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Michiganders can’t trust James to have their back by fighting for affordable health care and protecting coverage for pre-existing conditions.”
The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
