James “will NOT be critical” of Trump and McConnell pushing the lawsuit to gut pre-existing conditions coverage
As the Senate begins Supreme Court confirmation hearings today, failed politician and failed businessman John James has made clear he’d be a rubber stamp for Trump and McConnell’s nominee who is a threat to Michiganders’ health care.
And it’s no wonder why. James has vowed to repeal the law that protects 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions and like his party leaders he has “no meaningful plan for replacing it.”
“Michiganders’ health care is at stake with the Supreme Court vacancy, but John James cares more about siding with Trump and McConnell than working families who depend on lifesaving health coverage,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “James’ support for rushing through a nominee who is expected to be the deciding vote in a lawsuit to take away our health care confirms he cannot be trusted to protect pre-existing conditions coverage.”
The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
