John James Revealed: Mitch McConnell’s Allies Pump $5.6 Million More into MI Senate Race to Boost His Handpicked Candidate John James

McConnell’s allies have spent nearly $25 million to prop up far right “conservative media darling” John James; McConnell hosted exclusive fundraiser for James just weeks ago

Mitch McConnell’s super PAC just announced they’re pouring another $5.6 million onto Michigan’s airwaves to boost their hand-picked candidate, failed politician and failed businessman John James.

Despite James’ desperate attempts to create distance from McConnell and his Washington allies, it’s no wonder why they’ve pumped in nearly $25 million to prop up his campaign. James would be a reliable vote for their far right agenda, which includes jamming through a Supreme Court nominee who threatens protections for pre-existing conditions coverage, women’s right to make decisions about their own reproductive health care, and would side with corporate special interests over Michigan workers.

“Mitch McConnell’s allies are pumping millions trying to lift up John James, because they know he’d be a reliable vote for Washington Republicans’ far right agenda which puts special interests first and Michigan last. And time and again James has shown he’ll always fall in line with Trump and McConnell even when it’s wrong for Michigan,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn.

The Michigan Democratic Party launched to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
