James Called Abortion “Genocide,” Opposes Any Judge Who Doesn’t “Openly Call for Abortion to be Outlawed”
In a WILS radio interview last cycle, failed Senate candidate John James said he would be “okay” if Roe v. Wade was overturned — another one of the many comments he’s made expressing his out of touch views on restricting women’s reproductive rights. James opposes exceptions even for cases of rape and incest. James is endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List, a fringe anti-choice group which has also funneled $4,800 to his campaign.
James’ position would have dire consequences in Michigan. The Detroit Free Press reports that if Roe were overturned right now, Michigan would revert to a 1931 law that made performing an abortion a felony, unless it was to save the life of the woman. James has also promised to only nominate anti-choice judges and pledged to oppose any judicial nominee who didn’t “openly call for abortion to be outlawed” even in cases of rape and incest.
Listen to James call for Roe v. Wade to be overturned HERE:
WILS: “So if the Supreme Court and Brett Kavanaugh were confirmed, and they at some point ruled on Roe v. Wade and threw it back to the states, that would be okay with you?”
JAMES: “That would be okay with me.”
