Weekly Update: John James’ Broken Promises By The Numbers

This week, a damning new report exposed failed politician John James’ broken promises and lies to voters. Documents reveal that James repeatedly lied about his record as a Michigan job creator, and during his tenure as a top executive at his company, he took nearly $2 million in tax breaks while failing to fulfill his commitment to create the jobs promised – and in fact cut jobs.

James also faced scrutiny for “very troubling” activity and potentially violating federal law after begging for outside dark money support to boost his flailing campaign. Despite James’ desperate plea for help, including soliciting and directing dark money spending, ads put up by Mitch McConnell’s dark money group were immediately exposed for their “misleading” claims and “false conclusion.”

And to top it off, James doubled down on his unwavering “2,000%” support for Trump as he appeared at the Republican National Convention and campaigned with Mike Pence. James is continuing to demonstrate he’s “all for” Trump’s agenda, even as the administration is working to gut protections for 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions in the Supreme Court.
