This week, a series of new reports highlighted just how much Michiganders’ health care is on the line if failed politician John James were elected.
First, it was reported that 222,000 Michiganders are newly uninsured after being hit by the “double whammy” of losing their health care after losing their job. And the percentage of Michiganders without health care has grown 46% since the pandemic hit Michigan.
Then, a Washington Post fact check confirmed that even though Republicans – like John James – claim to “support coverage guarantees for patients with preexisting health conditions…their records show the opposite.” Like other Republicans, James’ misleading “doublespeak” of empty promises to protect pre-existing conditions is baseless as he promises to remove the Affordable Care Act.
As usual, James is “2,000%” with Trump even as he’s pushing a lawsuit to repeal the ACA, which protects 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions. And just like James’ Washington Republican allies, he still has no plan to protect Michiganders with pre-existing conditions.

The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. Since announcing he’d run again, just over six months after his last failed bid, James has been hiding from Michigan voters and refusing to answer questions from Michigan media.
