Failed politician John James is once again putting GOP mega-donors first and Michigan last as he pockets hundreds of thousands from out of state billionaires and far-right groups who support a bad for Michigan agenda.
In the latest quarterly fundraising filing, James took in more than $112,000 from Senate Conservatives Fund, a group which only backs GOP candidates who support repealing the health care law which protects 1.7 million Michiganders with pre-existing conditions. He also took in thousands from the Club for Growth, a group which was instrumental in passing the GOP tax scam, which paved the way for the Trump and Republican-led lawsuit to gut health care.
He also confirmed that his campaign is driven by Betsy DeVos and her anti-education agenda as he has cleared over $84,000 in donations from the DeVos family and their top executives. And he’s benefitted from $2 million raised by the DeVos family funded super PAC, which was set up by his shadow campaign manager to support him.
And that’s not all, James has now taken donations from 23 billionaires, many of whom are Trump mega-donors, who know James will be “all for” the Trump agenda if elected.

The Michigan Democratic Party launched JohnJamesRevealed.com to hold the failed U.S. Senate candidate accountable for his positions – including those made over the course of the 2018 campaign that he then tried to delete after losing that campaign. For the first year of his campaign, James was largely in hiding from Michigan press and voters to try to paper over his out-of-touch record, and has only come out of hiding after facing scrutiny from Michiganders.
